The Team
Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST) is a division of the Tasmania Department of Health that provides public dental care services to eligible Tasmanians. Its primary goal is to improve oral health outcomes across the state, particularly for vulnerable and disadvantaged populations.
OHST employs approximately 300 people including dentists, oral health therapists, dental prosthetists, technicians, dental assistants and administrative staff. Services are delivered from 33 clinics around Tasmania, with adult services centred in six major hubs and child and adolescent services in 23 community clinics.
The Role
As a Customer Service Officer, you will be the first point of contact for clients, delivering a professional, responsive and confidential reception service. You will support the day‐to‐day operations of the dental clinic by managing enquiries, coordinating appointments, maintaining client records, and assisting with administrative and financial tasks.
Working closely with clinicians and colleagues, you will help ensure efficient service delivery, contribute to a positive patient experience, and support safe, high‐quality care across the service.
You will need
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of clients and staff
* Strong organisational and time‐management skills, with the ability to prioritise in a busy environment
* A flexible, team‐focused approach and the ability to adapt to changing demands
* Experience delivering high‐quality customer service, including managing difficult or sensitive situations
* Sound administrative skills, including confidence using computer systems and maintaining accurate records
* An understanding of appointment scheduling and administrative processes (experience in a dental or clinical setting is desirable)

Details of appointment
Permanent, full‐time day‐worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

$66,049 to $70,993 per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
