About the role…
Reporting to the CEO, the Marketing & Communications Manager plays a critical role in shaping and promoting the organisation and the region. You will lead the development, implementation and measurement of strategic marketing and communication initiatives and activities that enhance visibility, influence, and impact‑across government, industry, and the broader community.

What you will do…
- Lead the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies aligned with RDA's regional vision and strategic priorities, as well as for various grant funded projects
- Create and manage high-quality content across digital platforms, media, publications, advocacy and stakeholder communications.
- Engage and build relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, councils, media, local businesses, and community groups.
- Manage the organisation's digital presence including websites, social media, e-newsletters, and content management systems.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on marketing and communication effectiveness using data and insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Support the promotion of regional projects, events, and initiatives through targeted campaigns, consistent messaging and coordinated marketing activities.
- Advise the CEO on marketing and communication matters and support reporting and engagement activities.
- Provide marketing and communications support to cross-functional programs, including the Barossa Regional University Campus (BRUC), where required.
- Ensure alignment of all marketing and communications with brand identity, stakeholder expectations, and funding partner requirements.
What we are looking for…
- Strong experience (5+ years) in marketing, communications, public relations, or corporate affairs leadership roles.
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Corporate Affairs, Public Relations, or related field.
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and content development skills tailored to diverse audiences and channels.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex objectives into clear, compelling narratives.
- A confident communicator with experience engaging government, business, and community stakeholders.
- High-level digital literacy including managing websites, social media, email marketing, and analytics tools.
- Experience in media relations, with the ability to secure coverage and manage media interactions.
- Self-starter with strong project management skills, the ability to manage up, manage competing priorities and multiple workstreams, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
