We will be looking to transform assessment and feedback practices for people with acquired brain injury through developing a co-designed training to improve engagement, self-efficacy, and rehabilitation outcomes.This is a fixed-term, part time (0.6 FTE) opportunity with an openness to negotiate the FTE amount.In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and analysing both interview and interactional data using thematic analysis and Conversation Analysis (CA). You will also apply behavioural change models, such as COM-B and the Behaviour Change Wheel (BCW), to the co-design and implementation of training interventions for use in acquired brain injury rehabilitation.As a Research Fellow, you will collaborate closely with Chief Investigators, healthcare clinicians, consumers, and caregivers, fostering an inclusive research environment that values diverse perspectives. You will also coordinate multi-site research efforts between Western Australia and New South Wales, ensuring seamless communication and project management.Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Leadership & ServiceFoster a supportive working environment within the team and wider University.Build relationships with professional bodies, industry, government departments, and the community as appropriate for this role.Uphold high professional standards in accordance with the University’s Code of Conduct.ResearchConduct high-quality, competitive research and contribute to this research program.Demonstrate excellent project management skills.Demonstrate excellent communication skills, contribute to publications and presentations as required and disseminate findings through various academic channels.Manage administrative responsibilities related to research activities.Who we are looking for - Selection CriteriaA doctoral qualification in relevant discipline (Speech Pathology, Neuropsychology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology).Evidence of a record of research outputs/creative works in high quality refereed journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.Experience with interview and video data collection.Expertise in co-design methodology, implementation science, and consumer engagement in healthcare.Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.Strong project management skills, including experience in multi-site research coordination.Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with all stakeholders with cross cultural sensitivity.Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this positionDesirable CriteriaKnowledge of behaviour change frameworks (COM-B, BCW).Experience conducting qualitative research (e.g., thematic analysis, Conversation Analysis, stakeholder interviews).Experience working with patients with acquired brain injury, aphasia, or cognitive-communication disorders.Role Requirements:As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction.About Curtin UniversityWe are an energetic, dedicated team of academics and professionals working together to provide global solutions through quality graduates and innovative research.
