Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader/PE Teacher Position
This role is pivotal in establishing referral pathways once a concern is identified by a teacher or school staff member in the classroom.
To promote a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, we encourage collaboration with students, staff, and families. This involves supporting teachers and school staff to enhance their capacity to embed evidence-based mental health strategies, interventions, and programmes into their teaching practices.
Our ideal candidate will work closely with school staff to inform, influence, and provide input into teaching and learning related to mental health and wellbeing.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support to school staff and classroom teachers to build their capabilities in embedding mental health into the classroom environment. This includes working with school leadership and wellbeing teams to integrate whole-school approaches to mental health into school planning and strategic processes.
Responsibilities:
* Establish referral pathways for students requiring further assessment and intervention
* Collaborate with school staff to promote a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing
* Support teachers and school staff to enhance their capacity to embed evidence-based mental health strategies
* Work with school leadership and wellbeing teams to integrate whole-school approaches to mental health into school planning and strategic processes
* Provide support to school staff and classroom teachers to build their capabilities in embedding mental health into the classroom environment
Requirements:
* A strong understanding of mental health and wellbeing principles and practices
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work effectively with school staff, students, and families
* Ability to develop and implement effective referral pathways
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
