Under direction of the Editor, and in collaboration with colleagues your will be involved in;
1. Creating content with a rural focus, for multiple platforms to engage local and national audiences.
2. Producing and presenting rural content, Q&A’s, interviews and packages across all platforms, including breaking stories.
3. Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to develop and distribute new content ideas to achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences.
4. In collaboration with colleagues, identify and develop local content that can be shared with other content teams in Regional & Local and across the ABC on multiple platforms.
About You
Are you passionate about rural issues and have proficient editorial skills? You will also have a passion to source and create authentic content which represents the broad diversity of the Australian community. This exciting opportunity will allow you to use your tertiary qualifications in journalism or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in sourcing and analysing information and exercising reliable judgement. You will also have:
5. Demonstrated experience in delivering breaking and original content for multiple platforms
6. Demonstrated understanding of the issues that affect and interest the local audience.
7. Good time management and communication skills.
A current drivers license is essential.
