What you'll contribute to
The Product Planning & Development Division is responsible for the Planning, Styling, Development, Evaluation and Regulation compliance of vehicles and Genuine Accessories. We design, develop and deliver unique global contributions towards ever better products so that we maximise the positive experience for our customers. The certifications Engineer is primarily responsible for ensuring vehicles sold and distributed within the Australian market are compliant and registered with all regulations and government certification systems.
This role is a Permanent role based in Altona North
How you'll make an impact
* Implement and maintain certification processes aligned with regulatory and compliance objectives.
* Assist in developing efficient certification procedures to meet vehicle compliance requirements.
* Prepare and manage certification documentation, including applications, test reports, and certificates.
* Review and support submissions related to Australian Design Rules, UNR Regulations, and government certifications.
* Liaise with stakeholders to communicate regulatory updates and minimise compliance risks.
* Support regulatory impact studies for new regulations and assess their feasibility for Toyota.
* Participate in project planning, performance monitoring, and recommend improvements where needed.
* Ensure all tasks comply with relevant regulations to reduce risk exposure and ensure legal compliance.
Your attributes - If you've got one or more, we'd love to hear from you
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
* Minimum 4 years' automotive industry experience, including vehicle homologation.
* Strong knowledge of Australian and International vehicle regulations and standards.
* Proven expertise in certification processes, regulatory compliance, and statutory requirements.
* Demonstrated skills in methodical problem solving, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.
* Effective stakeholder management, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
