The mission of our Cyber & Tech Risk (C&TR) practice is to increase public trust and participation in government digital services; a key driver in improving Australia's productivity, equality, resilience, and prosperity. Our subject matter specialists bring scale and expertise across all phases of cyber transformation covering advisory and assurance, privacy and data governance, digital identity, technology implementation, and ongoing security operations.
Our Cyber Advisory team helps clients identify, measure and manage the cyber risks they carry. We translate the complex world of cyber security by assessing weaknesses, developing strategies and roadmaps to drive maturity, and supporting implementation of people, process and technology changes. A typical day involves mastering and applying cyber frameworks (e.g. NIST, PSPF/ISM, ISO27k), facilitating crisis simulations, and advising CISOs, CIOs and CROs on strategic changes.
Role & Responsibilities
* Lead a key service line or market within our C&TR team and serve on the C&TR leadership team.
* Build strong client relationships, either through market engagement or project delivery, to understand cyber challenges and match them to Scyne's capabilities.
* Lead business development activities including proposal development, competitive RFQ/RFP responses, cost modelling, and client presentations.
* Lead large, complex client engagements, delivering expertise in Risk Management, Strategy, Governance & Culture, and Cyber Transformation.
* Manage the budget of a service line or capability to ensure financial viability.
* Manage the professional growth of a high‑performing team, including recruitment, mentoring, workload management and performance reviews.
* Lead the development of new capabilities, products and services based on market demand.
* Manage commercial relationships with key alliance partners.
Qualifications
* 10+ years of industry experience working with large organisations implementing cyber security controls.
* Expert knowledge of Australian and QLD government cyber security frameworks (e.g. ISM/PSPF, ISO27k, NIST CSF, VPDSF, SACSF).
* Strong foundation in contemporary technologies including networks, hyperscale clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP), SaaS applications, end‑user compute and data governance.
* Experience in commercial service delivery, business development, government procurement and managing multiple projects across a program of work.
* Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, AWS or Microsoft Cloud, SANS GIAC, CCSP, CISA, ISO27001 training, Chartered Security Architect – Foundation Certificate, FAIR Analysis Fundamentals, or CompTIA.
