Assistant Director - Strategy, Risk and Finance
A key leadership role within the Department, the Assistant Director-Strategy, Risk and Finance will play a critical part in shaping the organisation's risk management framework and strategic direction.
About the Role
The Assistant Director-Strategy, Risk and Finance will lead the development of risk frameworks, risk registers and strategy development. This role will also provide support and advice on finance and budgetary matters.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a risk management framework aligned with the Department's overarching risk framework.
* Lead the implementation of strategic and operational risk registers, including facilitating risk workshops and improving risk culture across the organisation.
* Lead a project to review and update the Organisation's Strategic Plan.
* Manage a small team providing strategy, financial and risk management support and advice.
About You
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and driven individual to lead our strategy, risk and finance function. The successful candidate will have strong risk management expertise and be able to demonstrate:
* Comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management Expertise: Proven ability to design, implement and oversee risk management processes.
* Risk Identification and Mitigation: Skilled in identifying and analysing risks, developing solutions and implementing process improvements.
* Strategic Planning and Governance Skills: Proven capability in developing and monitoring organisational strategies.
* Leadership and Team Development: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and coach team members.
* High-Level Communication Abilities: Skilled in preparing reports and advice on strategy, risk and finance.
Desirable Capabilities
* Financial Management Proficiency: Experience in overseeing budgets and financial operations is desirable.
