This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while developing your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.About youWe are searching for someone with:A Bachelor of Laws degree and admission, or eligibility for immediate admission, as a barrister, solicitor or legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland.Minimum 3 years post admission experience, preferably in the practice area highlighted below, noting successful applicants will be required to assist the workload of other streams from time to time:Public and administrative law, human rights, health regulatory, and knowledge of the Queensland Health portfolio legislationWorkplace, industrial relations and WHSHealth and other information management (including confidentiality, privacy and information access schemes)Litigation in Courts and Tribunals, alternative dispute resolution, commissions of inquiry and coronial inquestsCorporate and commercial law (including contract drafting and negotiation; procurement; ICT; clinical research; IP; construction; infrastructure and other major projects; joint venture advisory; property; funding; insurance)The role primarily involves providing advice with respect to enforcement activities and conducting prosecutions under the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998 and related legislation.
