Digital Channels Advisor, Victims Information

Fixed‑term until June 30, 2027 | Location: Wellington

Are you passionate about creating positive user experiences, producing digital communications, web management, and publishing? We're seeking two motivated Digital Channels Advisors to help refresh and sustain the Victims Information website - so victims and their whānau can find clear, trusted, informed information at the right time. You'll join a team that's modernising a key service, aligning with government web standards, and delivering a site that's easy to use and easy to maintain.


Te Haeata / The Opportunity


As a Digital Channels Advisor, You Will

* create, test, edit, publish, and maintain digital‑first content (text, imagery, video, resources) for the Victims Information website, ensuring it is accurate, consistent, and easy to manage with clear templates and standards.
* apply plain‑language, accessibility, and usability practices across content and components, supporting a victim‑centric experience that meets NZ Government Web Standards.
* monitor search analytics and user behaviour to identify improvements to information architecture, readability, and engagement - then act on those insights.
* coordinate publishing with subject‑matter experts and programme partners, resolve technical/content issues, and document workflows for version control and review cycles.
* contribute to the project's delivery - supporting user testing, content development, and post‑launch enhancements - so the site remains current and sustainable.


Ō Pūkenga / Skills And Experience

We're keen to hear from people with:

* hands‑on CMS publishing experience and content lifecycle management (drafting, reviewing, publishing, maintaining, archiving)
* strength in UX, prototyping, and content design, with a focus on accessibility, usability, and user‑centric design
* ability to produce analysis and analytics to evaluate performance and make evidence‑based recommendations
* stakeholder collaboration skills - confident working across multiple stakeholders and the Victims Programme to keep people and content accurate and aligned
* a keen eye for detail, initiative, and problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment.


About The Programme

The Victims Information Website Refresh will modernise victimsinfo.govt.nz, introducing search, clearer pathways to support, and content that's user‑focused, informed, inclusive, and easy to navigate. It's a communications‑led initiative aiming to set a repeatable framework for future web projects across the justice sector.

Utu ā‑tau / Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $73,634 and $100,846 based on skills and experience.
