For our new Personal Leadership Project in Tasmania’s Derwent Valley

Help young people build confidence, resilience and leadership.

At Youth Opportunities, young people are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a passionate, engaging and organised Youth Program Facilitator to join our team and help deliver high-quality Personal Leadership Programs in high schools across the Derwent Valley.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who thrives in front of a group, connects well with young people, and wants to make a genuine difference through facilitation, mentoring and relationship-building. Alongside program delivery, you will also support graduate engagement, school partnerships and continuous improvement across our services.

About the role

As our Youth Program Facilitator, you will:

* deliver engaging, high-quality Personal Leadership Program in schools in line with best practice

* mentor and support students through effective coaching and facilitation

* prepare program resources and equipment for sessions, events and graduations

* build strong relationships with school staff and key internal stakeholders

* support safe and positive learning environments through effective behaviour and risk management

* deliver graduate engagement activities, including workshops and co-design opportunities

* contribute to program improvement, team projects and a positive workplace culture

* act as a strong ambassador for Youth Opportunities.

About you

You are an energetic and values-driven professional who brings warmth, confidence and professionalism to your work. You know how to engage a room, build trust with young people, and work collaboratively with others to achieve strong outcomes.

You will ideally bring:

* strong presentation and facilitation skills

* excellent interpersonal, communication and active listening skills

* empathy, emotional intelligence and resilience

* initiative, flexibility and a solution-focused mindset

* strong time management, organisation and prioritisation skills

* experience working with and engaging young people from diverse backgrounds

* experience in facilitation, coaching, mentoring or working with young people at risk of disengagement from education.

Essential requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

* First Aid Certificate

* Working with Vulnerable People Check

* Current Driver’s License

* National Police Check (no older than 3 months)

* Willingness to use your private vehicle for local and regional travel as required.

Desirable qualifications and experience

The following will be highly regarded:

* tertiary qualifications in Training, Education, Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work or a related field

* experience in coaching and mentoring

* intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
