Job Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to join our team and lead the management of our Grain and Oil division.
1. Key Responsibilities:
2. - Provide timely and accurate monthly management financials for the G&O platform.
3. - Review trading financial results daily and monthly, providing analysis for internal stakeholders on P&L, volume, revenue, and production cost drivers.
4. - Prepare and review the annual company budget in collaboration with the Financial Controller for the G&O platform.
5. - Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring assets reconcile back to the general ledger and all depreciation journals in the accounting and tax books are accurate.
6. - Analyze capex project applications to ensure they meet group investment hurdle rates.
7. - Produce and distribute monthly Capex reporting.
8. - Prepare the quarterly fixed asset register for tax effective accounting.
9. - Oversee and maintain the integrity of the billing module within CSM to deliver an accurate source of truth for transactional data when migrated into the ERP.
10. - Manage the G&O Controlling team, including development planning, workload management, and motivating the team to achieve group objectives.
11. - Develop an understanding and application of relevant accounting standards such as AASB 16 Leases and AASB 116 Property, Plant and Equipment, communicating updates to the Finance Team.
Requirements
* - Membership of a Professional accounting organization (e.g., CPA or ICAA).
* - At least 5 years' experience in a finance role.
* - Technical accounting knowledge gained from a medium - large/complex corporate environment, reporting according to Australian Accounting Standards.
* - Good knowledge of accounting processes (including variance analysis, GL posting, accruals, and reconciliations) and management reporting requirements.
* - Familiarity with key end-to-end business processes and associated internal controls such as budgeting and forecasting, invoicing and billing, procure-to-payment.
