ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Youth and Family Case Worker at The Base, you'll be at the heart of our mission, working to empower young individuals and their families to overcome adversity and build resilience. You'll step into a role that goes beyond mere tasks – it's about making a real difference in people's lives. You'll engage with young people facing complex needs, providing tailored support through outreach, mentoring, and intensive case management. ABOUT YOU:

We're seeking candidates with a passion for social justice and a commitment to making a meaningful impact. While prior experience in a similar role is valued, what matters most is your empathy, resilience, and dedication to serving others. You should possess solid communication and interpersonal skills, a confident case management skill set and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team. A relevant qualification in social work or a related field is preferred, but we welcome applicants from all backgrounds who share our values and vision.

POSITION PREREQUISITES:

- Certificate or tertiary qualifications in fields such as youth work, community/human services, social science, social work, criminal justice, or related disciplines.
- Intensive caseload/planning/management experience is essential.
- Strong written communication skills, with a proven ability to maintain accurate and thorough case notes.
- Effective communication and engagement skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including conflict resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of, or the capability to acquire, a range of relevant community resources
- Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise administrative and client workload.
- Emotionally resilient and self-reflective, with proactive self-care management.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and autonomously as required.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with data systems, e.g., Infoxchange systems.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

To ensure the safety and integrity of our team and the individuals we serve, certain prerequisites must be met:

- National Criminal History Police Check and Driver's License: Prospective employees must undergo and pass a National Criminal History Police Check. Additionally, a valid Australian/Queensland driver's license is required for the role.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and Disability Worker Screening Check: Before commencing employment, candidates must provide evidence of a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and a Disability Worker Screening Check.
- First Aid and CPR Certification: All employees must possess a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Probationary Period: All positions are subject to a 6-month probationary period to ensure suitability and alignment with organizational values and expectations.
