Unaccredited Palliative Care Trainee – ISLHD

Looking for meaningful clinical experience in a supportive specialist team? Join Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District as a Palliative Care Unaccredited Trainee, with rotations across inpatient units, hospital consult services and community palliative care. Deliver compassionate, patient‐centred care while building advanced clinical skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

This role provides district‐wide exposure across specialist palliative care services from Bulli to Shoalhaven. ISLHD offers a supportive, multidisciplinary environment in one of NSW's most beautiful regions, with beaches, bushland and relaxed coastal living. What you'll be doing

Responsible for provision of high‐quality palliative care assessment and advice for inpatients referred to ISLHD Palliative Care Services. Term rotations include Wollongong Hospital (Consult Service), Bulli Hospital (inpatient Palliative Care Service), Shoalhaven District Hospital (consult service) or Community Specialist Palliative Care service under the supervision of Specialist Staff.

* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
* A minimum of three (3) full years of postgraduate experience, completing a palliative care term is preferable
* Able to demonstrate relevance of palliative care training to chosen career path
* Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills and judgement and expertise
* Demonstrated teamwork, time‐management and problem‐solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Sufficient skills, knowledge and experience to practise as a safe and competent palliative care trainee
* Demonstrated commitment to participate in after hours, weekend and on‐call rosters
