We are seeking an experiencedProject Managerto lead the planning and design delivery of a major civil infrastructure project in a client-side role.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Manage the planning and design phase of major civil infrastructure projects.
* Coordinate and oversee consultant and contractor performance throughout project delivery.
* Monitor and report on project budgets, schedules and risk through governance and Project Control Group processes.
* Review progress claims, project performance and financial management outcomes.
* Lead project close-out activities, including grant reporting, capitalisation and financial completion
Stakeholder Management
* Liaise and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including:
* Councillors and Council staff
* Contractors and technical consultants
* Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR)
* Asset owners and maintenance providers
* Community groups, event stakeholders and affected property owners
* Attend public information sessions and represent the project where required.
* Manage consultation processes, negotiation outcomes and stakeholder issues.
Technical Oversight
* Coordinate internal review of planning and design documentation.
* Provide technical engineering guidance and quality assurance across design deliverables.
* Support project design finalisation, including review and acceptance of Issued for Construction documentation.
* Ensure designs align with approved scope, standards, policies and strategic objectives
Procurement & Contract Management
* Work closely with procurement teams to prepare tender documentation, including specifications.
* Manage tender clarifications and act as a key contact during live procurement processes.
* Support tender evaluations and preparation of award recommendations for approval.
* Coordinate engagement and management of design consultants.
About You
You are a collaborative and commercially minded project leader who can balance technical, stakeholder and governance requirements in a complex project environment.
You will bring:
* Substantial knowledge of public infrastructure planning and design.
* Strong financial management capability, including budgeting, cost control and reporting.
* Demonstrated experience reviewing technical designs and managing consultant performance.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Proven ability to solve complex problems and deliver practical solutions.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
* Minimum 10 years' project management experience, ideally in civil infrastructure delivery.
* Current Class C Driver Licence.
* Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).
* Experience working with local government or state government infrastructure projects.
* Experience delivering grant-funded transport or major infrastructure projects.
