Key Role in Mine Planning and Operations
We are seeking an experienced mining engineer to join our team as a key member of the Mine Planning department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering applications within an open-cut mining environment and experience with mine design and scheduling software.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, scheduling, and planning of our operations, as well as continuous improvement and cost mitigation of the mine. This is a critical role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
* Promote and maintain compliance with all relevant safety and environmental management systems
* Provide technical guidance for all drilling, blasting, dozer, excavator, and coal mining activities
* Maintain short-term production schedules and develop mine designs for mining functions
* Ensure mining activities are carried out according to design specifications
* Formulate production forecasts and budgets as required
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
* Experience in engineering applications within an open-cut mining environment
* Experience with mine design and scheduling software
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
