The Finance Support Officer plays a pivotal role in the financial operations of an organization.
Job Description
This position is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the finance team, including the processing of payroll, accounts payable, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Obtains revenue and pays invoices by verifying and completing banking, payable and receivable transactions.
* Liaises with the Operations Manager and Finance Officer on external audits, annual financial statements, and related matters.
* Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting regulations, and recommending new procedures.
* Participates in internal and external auditing programs as required.
* Prepares reports and documents as needed.
* Manages financial records and systems using Xero, Sage MicrOpay Payroll Visual Care comprehensive software and database programs.
* Manages bi-weekly payroll of all staff in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement.
* Maintains employee records, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
* Processes transactions related to tax, superannuation, deductions, and salary packaging.
* Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
