GenusPlus Group is a rapidly growing ASX-listed organisation delivering end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services across the power, communications and infrastructure sectors. Genus Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Perth-based team and lead the commercial function across a significant portfolio of projects in Western Australia. Reporting to the General Manager – Commercial, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for:
* Post-contract execution and delivery across a major program of works
* A portfolio valued at ~$500 million across approximately 25–30 active contracts
* A team of 7 commercial professionals, including Senior Contract Administrators, Contract Administrators, and Contract Assistants
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a strategic partner to the WA business, aligning operations with broader GenusPlus objectives
* Translate commercial strategy into actionable business plans with measurable outcomes
* Monitor project and financial performance, providing insights to support decision-making
* Lead commercial risk management and contract management in line with contractual obligations
* Manage all claims and contractual matters with clients as an escalation point from the team
* Build and maintain strong client relationships across multiple projects
* Provide regular reporting and insights to managements
* Act as an escalation point for Project Directors across projects under your remit
* Lead, mentor and retain a high-performing commercial team through proactive leadership
* Establish and maintain systems to ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting
* Travel to project sites as required to support delivery and gain operational insight
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline
* Extensive experience in Commercial and Contract Management within the WA market, particularly across large-scale mining or infrastructure projects
* Strong working knowledge of contract frameworks including AS4000, ITC models, and FIDIC (Silver Book)
* Proven experience managing large teams and providing balanced, commercially sound guidance
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex claims, disputes, and contractual negotiations
* Strong financial acumen with experience in performance reporting and analysis
* Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong capability across the Microsoft Office Suite
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
