Immediate Opportunity | Support Critical Power Generation Operations
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support Operations & Maintenance across multiple power generation sites in Northern Territory. This role is ideal for someone who excels at producing clear, accurate, and high quality documentation in technical environments.
This is a contract position working on location at Channel Island Power Station.
About the Role
In this position, you will be responsible for preparing, editing, and maintaining a range of technical documents including manuals, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and other operational material. Your work will ensure documentation is accessible, compliant, and aligned with industry standards.
You will collaborate with engineering, operations, production, and quality teams to ensure documentation supports safe, consistent, and effective site operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, write, and maintain high quality documentation including user guides, system documents, and work instructions relevant to power generation.
* Ensure documentation meets relevant industry standards, legislative requirements, and internal organisational policies.
* Maintain standardised document control and document management frameworks.
* Create and maintain document templates and manage the structure of manuals and technical documents.
* Work collaboratively with controllers, coordinators, managers, and quality staff to ensure consistent, quality assured documentation.
About You - Essential Criteria
* Advanced skills in word processing, desktop publishing, and document management systems.
* High-level computer literacy across MS Office, content management tools, communication platforms, and planning/reporting systems.
* Proven experience producing professional?standard documentation using tools such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information clearly and effectively.
Desirable
* Willingness to travel to multiple power generation sites to develop procedures on location.
* Engineering or technical background combined with experience in technical writing.
