Job Summary:
The Management Accountant is responsible for supporting financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. This role provides support in budgeting, financial reporting, and daily operational financial tasks.
About the role:
• Responsible for and maintaining the accounting ledgers and daily accounting activities.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining financial statements, reports, and records.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
• Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations, including GST, BAS, and corporate tax filings.
• Assist with month-end closing responsibilities for the preparation of monthly management reporting.
• Reconciliation of general ledger, petty cash, receipts, allowance, and credit cards.
• Monitor cash flow, banking transactions, and account reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
• Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support decision-making.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment on financial matters.
• Review, propose, and implement internal processes for efficiencies and automation.

You'll need:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance support roles.
• Previously worked in an accounting practice would be beneficial.
• Experienced in using Xero accounting software, Xero Practice Management System and Microsoft 365 office.
• Strong Excel and IT Skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, Australian financial reporting standards (AASB), and tax regulations.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA) or currently studying, is a plus but not required.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
