Salary package: $98,387 - $102,887 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full-time, Continuing (Contingent Funded)
This position is continuing (contingent funded). The funding that supports this project has an expected end date of up to 12 months.
The Position
The Area Coordinator- Quality and Compliance supports the effective operation of Animal Services by coordinating quality systems, regulatory compliance activities, audit readiness and documentation control relevant to animal research operations. The role works collaboratively with managers and central specialist functions to support compliant and high-quality practices across the facility.
The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of the regulatory requirements and have an understanding of operational risk and compliance requirements within animal research and laboratory environments. The position requires a high level of organisational skills and demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to change whilst also meeting deadlines, assessing and prioritising workload.
The Person
You will have a degree in biological science, animal care or relevant field and/or appropriate experience in the field of research services, animal care and laboratory and quality management. You will have a sound knowledge of the regulatory requirements and have an understanding of operational risk and compliance requirements within animal research and laboratory environments. You will have experience in writing reports, SWPs (Safe Work Procedures), policies and work plans at the standard required for accreditation and manage documentation as an ongoing quality requirement. In this role, you will work collaboratively with diverse groups including academic and professional staff, students, specialist advisory teams, and representatives of outside organisations.

The Animal Services is a key research infrastructure component of the ANU's biology and medical research disciplines and provides a vital research services across the ANU and wider Australian research community. It supports biomedical research activities by providing high standards of animal health, welfare, biosecurity and regulatory compliance.
The College/Division
The ANU College of Science and Medicine encompass the following disciplines: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Physics, Medicine and Psychology, and Medical Research. It is also home to various cross-disciplinary and specialist institutes and centres.
