Project administrator, remote laundries project

Darwin
Aboriginal Investment Group
Posted: 12 April
Offer description

Looking for your next challenge in a role that truly matters? Join a meaningful initiative supporting health and dignity in remote Indigenous communities.

We are seeking an organised, proactive and culturally aware Project Administrator to support the Remote Laundries Project. This role is well suited to someone with existing administration or project support experience who is ready to build on their skills, take greater ownership, and contribute to the successful delivery of a high impact program.

About us

At Aboriginal Investment Group (AIG), we believe in creating opportunities and positive change. Our Remote Laundries aren't just about clean clothes—they help fight scabies and other skin diseases while also providing employment in remote communities.

AIG is a 100% Aboriginal‐owned, self‐funded not‐for‐profit organisation dedicated to supporting the economic and social advancement of communities across the Northern Territory.

We are a close‐knit team of ten at Head Office, with around 30 staff working across our laundries. The role offers variety, autonomy, and opportunities for growth within a supportive and culturally safe environment.

About the Role
The Project Administrator for the Remote Laundries Project (RLP) is responsible for supporting both the day‐to‐day operations of AIG's Remote Laundries and the delivery of new Laundries across the Northern Territory. This dual‐focused role ensures that existing services operate reliably and safely, while also contributing to the planning and rollout of new facilities that support community health, employment, and economic development.

Working as part of a small, dynamic team, the Project Administrator provides operational oversight, contractor coordination, procurement support, community engagement, reporting, and logistical planning. The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to working in partnership with Indigenous communities.

Contractor & Stakeholder Engagement

* Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to support both operational and construction activities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities, local organisations, and stakeholders.
* Represent AIG in meetings, community visits, and stakeholder discussions.
* Ensure communication between contractors, community partners, and AIG remains clear, timely, and respectful.

Maintenance & Compliance

* Support monitoring of contractor performance, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
* Assist with risk identification, mitigation, and escalation to the Program Manager.

Reporting & Administration

* Prepare operational and project progress reports, data summaries, and updates for the Program Manager and other stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate records relating to procurement, contracts, budgets, timelines, staffing, and site activities.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of operational and project management systems, templates, and processes.
