Formed in 2001, Anglicare North Queensland Limited (Anglicare NQ) is a for purpose not for profit Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) registered charity and an independent legal entity operating as a Company Limited by Guarantee. We provide place-based human services, support community initiatives and undertake advocacy work. Program Overview
As part of the Management Team this position works closely with the Executive and other Managers to strengthen casework practices, improve client outcomes and resource service integration across internal services and through the consolidation of partnerships and collaborative approaches with external entities.
You will provide one on one and small team in-service training and mentoring; undertake file reviews and assist with Internal Service Audits; support accreditation and licensing efforts, assist with new service startups and implementation of quality assurance initiatives. Priorities will be guided by a Workplan periodically updated to meet organisational needs.
To Be Successful You Will Need
* Tertiary qualifications in Community Development / Social Science or related field and or commensurate demonstrated experience.
* Understanding of legislation, policies, and frameworks impacting First Nations people and communities combines with advocacy and influencing skills and knowledge of community services.
* Proven interpersonal and effective relationship-building skills, capacity to work collaboratively across Teams, experience in cultural leadership and or providing strategic advice on First Nations matters within similar organisational settings.
* Comprehensive knowledge of First Nations cultures, histories and contemporary issues, with particular focus on North and Far North Queensland combines with a working knowledge of cultural safety principles, equity and inclusion frameworks.
* Significant organisational, project management, administration and ICT skills combines with ability to successfully plan, implement, evaluate and report on progress and a commitment to meaningful and measurable outcomes.
* Sound understanding of best practices in community consultation and engagement processes, including co-design methodologies and prior experience working with First Nations communities to build rapport and maintain strong, trust-based relationships.
* Prior experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including government, non-government, First Nations lead organisations and peak bodies to identify challenges, develop shared objectives and monitor progress on initiatives.
Compliance
* To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
* Satisfactory outcome of a current (less than 3 months old) National Criminal History Check
* Blue Card (QLD working with children card)
* Hold or be eligible for a LSC2 (child safety screening check)
* Current QLD drivers' licence 'Class C' or interstate equivalent
* A current national PoliceCheck (within the last 3 months)
