Manager Planning & Environment - North West Queensland
The Opportunity
Join a progressive Local Government in North West Queensland as Manager of Planning & Environment.
In this key leadership role you will be responsible for driving the Planning and Environment functions across the region.
Reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Environment, you will lead a multidisciplinary team overseeing town planning, environmental health, waste management, and compliance functions to support sustainable growth and community wellbeing.

About You
You're an experienced planning or environmental professional with a strong understanding of Local Government operations, legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
You're a confident leader who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment, with the ability to balance strategic direction, operational management, and stakeholder engagement.
You will bring
Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Science, or related discipline
Demonstrated experience in planning and / or environmental health within Local Government
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
Experience managing teams, budgets, and complex workloads
Proven ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and policy
