About the Role
As a Senior Personal Care Worker, you'll play a vital dual role — providing high-quality, person-centred care to residents while supporting and guiding fellow Personal Care Workers to deliver their best every day.
You'll be a trusted senior presence on the floor, working closely with Nurses and leadership to ensure residents feel safe, supported, respected and genuinely cared for.
What You'll Be Doing
* Coordinating daily workloads and supporting Personal Care Workers, including buddy shifts for new team members
* Delivering personal care and emotional support to residents, including mobility assistance, meals, activities and medication assistance
* Assisting with care planning, accurate documentation, charting and incident reporting
* Monitoring resident wellbeing and reporting changes to Nurses or Service Leadership
* Championing safe manual handling practices as a Manual Tasking Champion
* Supporting meal preparation, food handling and serving where required
* Upholding residents' dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times
* Living and breathing the Positive Wellbeing Model of Care in everything you do
About You
You're compassionate, confident and calm under pressure. You enjoy mentoring others, thrive in a team environment and are committed to delivering safe, high-quality care.
You'll bring:
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent
* HLTHPS006 – Assist clients with medication
* Competency as a Manual Tasking Champion
* Experience assisting with medication in an aged care setting
* Strong communication skills and the ability to document accurately
* Intermediate computer skills (Outlook and internet use)
* National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
* Australian Work Rights (Sponsorship unavailable for this role)
Highly regarded:
* Certificate IV in Ageing Support
* Experience mentoring or training staff
