Emergency Relief Officer
Community Services #1 is seeking a Emergency Relief Officer to enable and enhance the lives of people in our community.
The Emergency Relief Officer plays a key role within the Community Services sector, providing person‑centred financial and material assistance to individuals and families experiencing hardship. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, to support organisational goals of improved wellbeing and reduced hardship outcomes for the community.

Community Services #1 is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people and families in the ACT and surrounding NSW region. With over 200 employees and volunteers, we deliver programs that address community needs and foster a sense of belonging.
About the role:
* Provide intake and assessment for individuals and families in crisis.
* Coordination of care and support services in line with the financial wellbeing Program.
* Deliver immediate financial/material aid (food parcels, vouchers, etc.) to eligible clients.
* Provide prospective participants with information and appropriate advice, including information about advocacy and referring to appropriate support services as required.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with community providers.
* Assist with coordination of food pantry operations, including client interaction, volunteer engagement and ensuring appropriate food availability.

About you:
* Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, Disability Support, Health Services or related human services field, or equivalent relevant experience.
* Demonstrated experience delivering telephone and face-to-face assessment, referral, and support services to individuals, families, and communities with diverse cultural, emotional, and social needs.
* Understanding of risk assessment, duty of care, and safeguarding principles within community and health service environments.
* Hold unrestricted Working with Vulnerable People card, current First Aid & CPR, unrestricted Australian working rights.
* Hold a current driver’s licence and your own vehicle.
What we offer:
* Full time position - 76hrs fortnightly, with competitive hourly rate of $44.58 - $47.97 plus superannuation and salary packaging.
