About the role:
In this role, you’ll support the client's statutory planning functions by reviewing planning applications and preparing advice that aligns with their strategic priorities. You’ll work closely with internal teams and government stakeholders, gaining exposure to real-world planning processes and environmental regulation.
In this role you will:
- Have the chance to work on Major Projects and help manage the capacity across the unit
- Assist in delivering referral functions under the Planning and Environment Act 1987
- Review planning applications and prepare advice on potential environmental and human health risks
- Ensure that your advice reflects commitment to harm prevention
Skills and experience:
- A strong understanding of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Victorian Planning Provisions
- Familiarity with the clients role under the Environment Protection Act 2017
- Skills and knowledge of statutory planning processes in Victoria
- The ability to manage tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
