**About Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3**:
Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.
John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.
Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.
As construction of GCLR3 gets under way, John Holland is actively recruiting for a talented and driven Sustainability Manager with previous experience in project delivery to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.
**Responsibilities of the role include**:
- Drive a culture of contemporary thinking and pest practice to address the needs of our customers and communities
- Engage with community stakeholders and conduct outreach programs to raise awareness about the projects sustainability goals and initiatives
- Increase the projects' understanding of sustainability
- Partner with the delivery team to advocate sustainable outcomes
- Monitor, measure and evaluate the projects sustainability performance to support continuous improvement
- Assist with the reporting, documentation and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Stay informed about emerging sustainability trends, best practices and technologies in the transport/construction sector and make recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation
- Lead and develop a team of sustainability professionals
**To be successful in this role, you must have**:
- Bachelor of Environmental Management, Sustainability, Engineering, Science of equivalent
- 5+ years' experience delivering infrastructure projects
- Excellent understanding of sustainability rating schemes and standards
