Night Auditor
Little Drifter Hostel – Melbourne
Recently transformed with a multi-million dollar designer fit-out, Little Drifter Hostel offers a unique stay for solo travellers and groups looking to experience Melbourne in style. More than just a place to sleep, Little Drifter is a vibrant community where global explorers connect, stories unfold, and the energy of the city is felt around the clock.
We're now looking for a Night Auditor to be the calm, capable presence that keeps the hostel running smoothly overnight—supporting guests, balancing the day's operations, and ensuring safety, accuracy, and great experiences while the city sleeps.
The Role
As Night Auditor, you'll be responsible for both guest-facing service and overnight operations, acting as the go-to person during the late shift.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Managing overnight operations including end-of-day balancing, audits, and system close-off procedures
* Welcoming late arrivals and assisting early departures with a friendly, confident approach
* Handling guest enquiries and resolving issues professionally and independently
* Monitoring hostel security and safety, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff
* Managing complaints and incidents calmly, escalating where required
* Acting as a representative of management overnight
* Maintaining accurate reports and understanding how nightly operations impact overall business performance
* Being knowledgeable about Little Drifter, Melbourne, and local experiences—helping guests make the most of their stay
* Building genuine connections with guests to create memorable experiences and encourage return visits
About You
You're reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working autonomously overnight. You enjoy problem-solving, take ownership of your shift, and understand the importance of both accuracy and guest experience.
You'll bring:
* Experience in a Guest Service, Front Office, or Night Audit role
* Experience with a Property Management System (OPERA or similar preferred)
* An interest in hotel/hostel financial and auditing procedures
* Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
* Victorian driver's licence
* Full working rights in Australia (no sponsorship available)
* A genuine interest in growing your hospitality career
Why Work With Us
* Staff discounts on accommodation across our properties
* A people-first, inclusive workplace culture
* Opportunities to grow, develop, and progress within our business
* A fun, social, and design-led hostel environment
* The chance to be part of a brand that values connection, community, and memorable guest experiences
At Little Drifter, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. We believe our people are what make our spaces special.
If you're ready to own the night and be part of a hostel that does things differently, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now.
