With a major project underway in Cloncurry, we are seeking a commercially minded Junior Project Manager - ideally a Project Engineer or Contracts Administrator ready to take the next step into project leadership.
The Opportunity
This role is designed for someone who already understands contracts, cost control, and project reporting, and is ready to take on broader ownership of project outcomes.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in the commercial and contractual management of the project while gaining exposure to planning, delivery, and client interface responsibilities.
This is a FIFO role from Townsville or Brisbane, working a 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster, with flights, accommodation, and meals provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with commercial and contractual management of the project from procurement through to final accounts.
* Prepare and manage variations, claims, progress claims, and supporting cost substantiation.
* Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, and cost reporting.
* Support procurement processes including RFQs, subcontractor engagement, and purchase orders.
* Maintain accurate commercial records and contract documentation.
* Assist with client reporting, correspondence, and monthly reporting requirements.
* Work closely with site teams to capture costs, resources, and variations in real time.
* Ensure compliance with contractual, safety, quality, and environmental obligations.
About You
This role will suit someone who is commercially driven and looking to broaden their project leadership capability.
* Background as a Project Engineer, Contracts Administrator, or similar commercial role in civil construction.
* Minimum 4–6 years' experience on civil or infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, variations, claims, and cost control.
* Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and site teams.
* High attention to detail with strong analytical and organisational skills.
* Construction White Card and ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
