About the role
Working for our Intertek Robotic Laboratories (IRL) division, our Automation Maintenance Technicians utilise their technical knowledge and skills to safely carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs and provide operational support for automated systems and laboratory equipment.
The position is a fly in, fly out role, requiring the successful applicant to work dayshift and nightshift on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
Duties
The primary responsibilities of the Automation Maintenance Technician include:
· Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both manual and automated/robotic laboratory equipment
· Perform preventative, routine and breakdown maintenance tasks and maintain associated records using maintenance software
· Assess the urgency of maintenance issues and prioritise breakdown support accordingly
· Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failure and identify continuous improvement opportunities
· Complete assigned tasks safely and to a high standard, including maintaining the automated and laboratory equipment, electrical (LV) and mechanical components, instrumentation, pneumatics and PLC's, as well as assisting in maintaining continuous operation, housekeeping, and stock management.
· Follow all company rules and procedures to perform daily tasks and maintenance activities
· Assist in meeting the daily production targets of the laboratory operation
Skills and experience
The position would ideally suit someone with:
· Experience in instrumentation, fitting, mechatronics or low voltage electrical. Trade qualification desirable but not essential.
· Demonstrated hands-on experience on industrial field instrumentation, electronic controls and equipment, and pneumatic systems.
· Ability to interpret electrical, instrumentation and pneumatic drawings and equipment manuals.
· Demonstrated systematic fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to operate HMI systems.
· Experience with process control systems and operation of Scada systems.
· Valid West Australian Driver's License.
· WA Restricted electrical license, desirable but not essential.
· Ability to work in a team and autonomously.
· High level of communication skill.
