Position Summary
We are seeking an occupational therapist with an interest in healthy ageing who is able to take referrals on a casual contractor basis. The position will see you working one on one with older adults in in their own homes, providing OT assessment and support to clients in receipt of Support at Home packages in metropolitan Adelaide. Infinity Occupational Therapy Services is contracted to provide home-based allied health services to several registered providers. OT consultancy with this client group is primarily focused on delaying or reversing frailty or compensating for functional deficits through equipment, home modifications, pain management, rehabilitation, exercise, and promoting social participation.

We would like to hear from you if you are an enthusiastic and caring person who enjoys working with older adults. The role is ideally suited to an experienced OT who is looking for flexible work – e.g., that can be easily accommodated around school pick-up drop-off. You would work from home in arranging appointments and doing follow up. Remote clinical support and advice is available from the director.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting geriatric OT assessments for clients in their own homes.
* Professional, reliable advice to patients based on their health needs
* Recommendation of equipment and home modifications
* Establish basic home exercise programs
* Offer advice and strategies for the management of chronic pain.
* Development of evidence-informed patient information sheets
* Liaison with other members of the allied health team, HCP coordinator, or GPs regarding client needs, concerns or risk factors.
* Accurate documentation of client reviews / observations
Skills and experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA.
* Cultural competence, particularly working with Aboriginal clients, and/or clients with a primary language other than English.
* Knowledge of and passion for enabling healthy ageing
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Professional and caring nature
* Strong organisational skills
* Ability to work independently
