Join our team of 19 high‐performing Field Service Engineers in a highly autonomous role where no two days are the same. As a Service Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with colleagues across Operations and Commercial, and work with a team that is genuinely committed to delivering exceptional customer support and solutions.

Your work will be varied and impactful—ranging from customer service calls and scheduled preventative maintenance to equipment installations, product education, and training. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide timely technical support to customers, escalating issues to the Service Team Leader in line with internal processes.
* Complete all documentation accurately and promptly, including service reports, installation documents, training modules, and expense reports.
* Manage spare parts efficiently and accurately, including boot stock and third‐party logistics.
* Perform monthly preventative maintenance tasks and ensure all checklists and paperwork are completed correctly.
* Install new equipment at customer sites and support installations at trade events.
* Travel locally and internationally for required training.
* Provide ad hoc support to interstate teams as needed.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and key customers within your territory.
* Contribute to a positive team culture and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives at Abacus dx.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Electronics, Biomedical, Mechatronics).
* Broad technical experience across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and computer‐driven systems.
* Strong computer literacy, including networking knowledge.
* Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret and present technical information effectively.
* Analytical, resourceful, and strong problem‐solving abilities.
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
* Demonstrated agility, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
* Strong time‐management and task‐prioritisation capabilities.
* Self‐motivated and committed to achieving high standards of performance.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

* Experience in Haematology, Flow Cytometry, or Chemistry within a pathology environment.
* Local territory knowledge and existing customer relationships.
* Scientific understanding of assays and pathology terminology.
* Experience with instrument IT interfacing and LIS connectivity.
* Minimum three years in a similar role within an ISO‐compliant organisation.
* Restricted electrical licence or ability to obtain one.
