We are seeking an experienced and passionate Catering Manager / Head Chef to join our aged care communities in a full-time, Monday to Friday role. In this hands-on position, you will lead the kitchen team in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that support the health and wellbeing of our residents across Groundwater Lodge and Yaralla Place, operating from a central kitchen located at Groundwater Lodge.
Our Homes
Groundwater Lodge is a 60-bed home, while Yaralla Place is a 96-bed home. Both communities are thoughtfully designed into smaller households that reflect the comfort, familiarity, and rhythm of home.
The Role: We are seeking a Catering Manager / Head Chef to lead the catering operations, ensuring meals are prepared with care, flavour, and variety, while complying with food safety standards and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the catering team to maintain consistently high standards in food preparation and service
* Plan and create seasonal, nutritious, and appetising menus that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences
* Ensure full compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, food safety regulations, and HACCP requirements
* Engage with residents to understand their meal preferences and continuously enhance the dining experience
* Oversee kitchen operations, including budgeting, stock control, and staff training, to ensure efficiency and quality
What You'll Bring
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher
* Food Safety Certificate (mandatory)
* Minimum two years of experience in a similar catering or chef role
* Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a kitchen team
* Knowledge of aged care dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets and food-based supplementation
* A passion for providing high-quality meals that contribute to a homely and enjoyable dining environment
* Hold a current NDIS Check (or willing to obtain)
