What you'll be doing
To work as part of a team within the operating suite to maintain the highest standard of support necessary to facilitate and maintain the supply and demand of stock to perioperative services in a reliable, timely and effective manner.
Hospital assistant is responsible to work as part of a team to provide a service and leadership, which is consistent with service responsibilities, that ensures the delivery of services is undertaken in an efficient and effective manner. Incorporating quality control as part of the process, for the day to day operations. With the development and implementation of a continuous quality improvement program that aims to enhance customer service and meet the standards of EQUIP.
KEY DUTIES
* Stock ordering as directed through oracle and iprocurement
* Receive, debox and check stock items delivered to the operating suite, reconcile with amounts ordered and invoiced to ensure correct supply
* Stock rotation
* Ensure adequate stock is available and to alert the HSM1 to any changes in usage patterns
* Responsible for organising stock rooms in consultation with NUM and labelling shelves as required
* Checking use by dates on fridge and freezer items and all shelf stock

* Ability to prioritise and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of infection control standards
* Ability to perform physical demands of this position, such as push/pull of trolleys, deboxing and manual handling of supplies
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions
* Demonstrated previous experience working in stock control and/or within health facility
* Willingness to function as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with a commitment to teamwork
