Our Client
Our client is located south of the river and is looking for a Safety Coordinator on a temporary basis for 12 months.
The role
As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies that comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Your primary goal will be to minimise workplace hazards and promote a culture of safety throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager Safety, the role provides support and advice to frontline employees and contractors whilst managing work, health and safety risks.
Key duties include:
* Research and provide advice, liaison and support on WHS.
* Facilitate, coordinate and monitor incident investigations, hazard controls, WHS inspections and audits.
* Review and analyse WHS performance data and develop recommendations for improvement.
* Develop and provide training, information and WHS inductions.
* Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and improvement of Fremantle Ports' WHS management systems.
Qualifications:
* Minimum C Class Drivers' Licence.
* Tertiary qualifications in safety management or evidence of a similar level of knowledge/experience.
* Demonstrated heavy industry safety management experience.
* Experience in the development, implementation, and improvement of WHS management systems.
* Ability to develop and implement WHS risk management strategies aligned with relevant WHS standards and legislation.
* Ability to communicate and work co-operatively with others including contractors and third parties.
* Highly self-motivated with ability to work without close supervision.
What We Offer:
This role is paying $77p/h.
