About the role
The Human Resource Officer- Aged Care will be required to coordinate HR activities across selectability’s aged care footprint. This is an exciting opportunity for the HR officer to be involved in standing up services and a workforce across several remote locations to deliver quality aged care services. This position will report to the General Manager - Aged Care and be supported by the corporate People & Culture team. This position is permanent full-time or part-time, based in Townsville.
Main Duties:
1. Recruitment for the teams, including:
o Placement of job adverts
o Candidate screening
o Coordinating interviews
o Guiding new starters through the onboarding process
o Preparing employment contracts
o Coordinating performance reviews
o Exiting employees
2. Ensuring human resource compliance requirements are met
3. Managing employee learning and competencies
4. Providing support to leaders in performance management matters
5. Managing grievances in a fair process
About you
You will bring to the role:
* Minimum 3 years experience in human resources
* Sound understanding of the Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation
* Experience in community mental health (NDIS or aged care) is highly desirable
* Be extremely organized and efficient with an eye for detail
* Have well-rounded administrative skills and experience
* Respect and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
* Have excellent interpersonal skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Experience in having difficult conversations
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suites of programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
* Demonstrated experience in databases, experience in TRACCS and PageUp would be highly desirable
* Have a genuine interest in progressing your career in human resources
Qualifications:
* Cert IV in Human Resources or above would be highly desirable
* Current driver's licence, with a vehicle which can be used for work purposes
* Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain prior to commencing)
* Current yellow card exemption or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate (visit https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au to access this free module which takes 1 to 1 ½ hours to complete)
