Manufacturing – Maintenance Operator – Huntsman Corporation
Location: Deer Park, Victoria, Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect, troubleshoot, oversee, and diagnose operational problems in plant and distribution systems including boilers, heat exchangers, chillers, and piping systems (expansion joints, valves, supports, anchors).
* Actively contribute to site Zero Harm safety culture through compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, safety shares, 60‐second checks, safety conversations, and safety cross activities.
* Conduct and review job/task risk assessments (JSA's) for maintenance using Huntsman risk assessment methodology.
* Participate in daily maintenance toolbox/safety cross meetings to plan work and keep safety at the forefront.
* Follow, maintain, and develop lock‐out/tag‐out (LOTO) procedures when maintaining plant equipment.
* Participate in site EHS Audits, PHA's and other PS studies as required.
* Ensure site facilities, equipment and tool safety checks are completed in line with SSOW, PS and regulatory requirements.
* Perform preventive maintenance activities per PM schedules to keep equipment safe and productive and minimise downtime.
* Write and issue work permits (hot work, confined space, break‐in authority, working at heights risk assessments, etc.) for site maintenance and other work activities.
* Monitor equipment performance to keep it operational and available for production requirements.
* Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly, apply fault‐finding and troubleshooting techniques to identify and address problems, and recommend corrective actions.
* Cooperate and communicate effectively with stakeholders and the Maintenance Supervisor to plan maintenance and highlight potential impacts.
* Undertake startup and shutdown procedures in line with operating protocols and procedures.
* Assist with general maintenance across the plant, buildings and site as required.
* Execute site shutdown activities to meet reliability and mechanical integrity requirements.
* Control and monitor inventory of spares and maintenance consumables in line with site reliability requirements.
* Monitor production downtime due to equipment fault or failure and adjust maintenance strategy accordingly.
* Coordinate maintenance activities with site related shared services, landlords and natural neighbours.
* Ensure company purchasing procedures and guidelines are followed.
* Obtain quotations and raise purchase requests in Ariba for materials, tools and consumables required for plant maintenance.
Required Skills and Experience
* Trade qualification: Fitter and Turner, Fitter/Welder.
* Current licensed or certified in Confined Space Entry, Forklift, EWP, and First Aid training.
* Approximately 5 years' experience working in a manufacturing plant.
* Problem‐solving, root‐cause analysis and priority‐setting skills.
* Sound mechanical and chemical process logic skills and understanding.
* Working knowledge of plant & store standards and operating procedures.
* Strong focus on EHS and safe‐work practices, including risk assessments and permits writing to perform safe maintenance work.
* Good working knowledge of EHS regulations, process safety and safe work practices.
