Facility Maintenance Project Officer (Band 6)

End: 24 May 2026
Hours: 38 per week, Monday to Friday (8:30am–5:00pm)
Position Objective
* Manage and deliver minor capital works projects across Council's built infrastructure
* Oversee building renewals, refurbishments, upgrades and cyclic maintenance programs
* Provide facility management expertise to support policy and procedure development and implementation
* Monitor project delivery, contractor performance and budget expenditure
Key Responsibilities
* Manage projects in line with Council's Project Management Framework
* Prepare scopes, specifications and contract documentation
* Procure and oversee trade and service contractors
* Supervise on-site works and ensure compliance with OHS and regulatory requirements
* Monitor budgets and report on progress against targets
* Contribute to the development and improvement of project systems, policies and procedures
* Engage with internal stakeholders to minimise disruption to operational facilities
Skills and Knowledge
* Strong understanding of building construction, maintenance and asset management principles
* Knowledge of Victorian Building Regulations, NCC and relevant standards
* Experience managing contractors and outsourced services
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and within a team
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications and Experience
1. Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Building Construction, Engineering or related field
or substantial relevant industry experience
2. Demonstrated experience delivering minor capital works and maintenance projects
3. Experience in budget management and procurement
4. Experience developing or implementing policy and procedures
5. Current Victorian Driver Licence
