About the Role
This Technical Officer role is responsible for maintaining and supporting Electronic Access Control and Type 1/1A security systems across domestic locations. The position involves technical support, system enhancements, stakeholder engagement, and staff training. It's a hands-on role ideal for an experienced Gallagher-certified professional who thrives in a dynamic, technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver EACS and Type 1/1A system maintenance, upgrades, and support
* Provide technical input to design and refit projects
* Conduct site surveys and document upgrade requirements
* Prepare for installations, including planning and procurement activities
* Support installers with system programming, commissioning, and testing
* Train and mentor staff in system operation and compliance
* Maintain technical drawings, documentation, and as-built records
Skills & Experience
* Proven Gallagher programming and system integration experience
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs)
* Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams and technical documentation
* Experience installing and maintaining EACS and Type 1/1A systems
* Familiarity with compliance standards such as AS/NZS and ISO
Qualifications
* Open Cabling Registration with Fibre and Structured Cabling Endorsement
* Gallagher certification for EACS and Type 1A (standard and privileged user)
* WHS White Card, Working Safely at Heights, and Confined Spaces training
* Asbestos Awareness, First Aid, and a valid driver's licence
