The Role
This role plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person‐centred care and support according to the needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.
* Provide care and support aligned with residents' preferred daily routines, with a strong focus on meal choices and individual nutrition.
* Consider allergies and food intolerances in menu planning and service.
* Enhance the overall dining experience for residents.
* Assist residents with meal selection and meal timing preferences.
* Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences.
* Actively engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes.
* Use empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining experience.
* Promote resident choice and control to uphold dignity and respect.
* Prepare and maintain dining experience areas and provide meal service to meet individual resident choices.
* Maintain accurate nutrition and diet information as required.
* Assist with quality food preparation in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework.
* Assist with maintaining kitchen stock supplies as required.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated customer service skills.
* A compassionate and caring attitude.
* Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded).
* Willingness to take direction from others.
* Reliability and shift flexibility.
* Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
* Valid working rights in Australia (passport, birth certificate, etc.).
* Complete a police check and/or a NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain) prior to commencement.
