About The Role
* Provide excellent customer focus in a friendly and helpful manner. Maintain the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with parents, patients, members of the public, and departmental staff both in person and over the telephone.
* Provide high-quality confidential secretarial and general administrative support to the Allergy and Immunology Department, Division of Medicine, including Nurse Manager.
* Provide confidential and personal support to staff.
* Perform data collection and data entry requirements as directed.
* Proficiently complete functions associated with bookings for appointments, managing cancellations, and rescheduling using relevant information systems in a timely manner.
* Use clinical computer systems to record all demographic and Medicare details (e.g., HBCIS, ESM, POWERCHART), ensuring high-quality data.
* Perform accurate typing in an acute health care environment.
* Exercise judgment to solve immediate problems where precedents are not set or procedures are not defined.
* Work autonomously or with limited supervision, establishing work priorities, achieving targets, contributing to team goals, and solving immediate problems in a changing environment.
* Prepare and distribute agendas for meetings, book conference rooms, facilities, equipment, and take accurate minutes during meetings.
* Establish, review, and maintain an effective office record system for confidential documents, papers, internal correspondence, medical reports, and manage computerized data.
* Participate in developing, implementing, reviewing, and maintaining internal systems, processes, and work practices.
* Provide a positive role model and demonstrate understanding and consideration for team members.
* Project a positive image for Queensland Health and CHQ, respecting its high professional and ethical standards.
* Carry out incidental and peripheral tasks within your skills and experience as directed.
