BTG Australasia seeks a Product Technician to join their production facility, which employs 26 staff, including four veterinarians, and operates 4,500 Merino x Border Leicester wethers across 5,000 acres. Key activities include sheep immunisation and blood collection for production purposes.
The Employer: SERB develops, manufactures, and commercialises quality rescue pharmaceutical products for emergency rooms and intensive care units. The Role As a Production Technician, you will be actively involved in our sheep handling activities, both indoors and outdoors, to support our immunisation and antibody collection programs. You will work closely with the Production Supervisor and Senior Technicians, assisting with maintaining accurate records and upholding our high production standards.
Furthermore, you will contribute to the facility's upkeep, ensuring compliance with the standards set by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
In this role, you will contribute to the production of clean, safe serum in our facility by utilising low-stress stock handling techniques when working with our flock to maintain a high standard of animal welfare. This includes ensuring all animal care practices meet "best practice" standards and align with the guidelines outlined in the "Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals - The Sheep." Furthermore, you will strictly adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and execute every task with a paramount focus on safety, hygiene, and attention to detail.

- A background in Animal Science or Agriculture, preferred but not essential
- Enjoy working with a big team towards a common goal
- Good communication skills and high attention to detail
- Be motivated, physically fit and resilient
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office
- A South Australian driver's license is required
