About the role
Specialist Assessment Services (SAS) are seeking experienced health professionals to join our network to deliver independent, accurate, and timely assessments and reports related to service requirements for people with an injury, illness, or disability.
SAS was selected through a competitive tender process from the Australian Government Department of Social Services to deliver the National Panel of Assessors (NPA) program.
We are seeking experienced health professionals to join our network and have opportunities in the southern Gold Coast and Tweed regions.
What you'll be doing
As part of the National Panel of Assessors, you will play a critical role in helping people maintain meaningful employment, and deliver independent, accurate, and person-centred assessments and reports including:
* Ongoing Support Assessments: to ensure that eligible people with disability or injury receive the ongoing support they need in the workplace to keep their job.
* Supported Wage System Assessments: to determine productivity-based wages for eligible people with disability.
* Workplace Modifications Services: to assess the suitability of modifications (such as equipment or assistive technology) that will support people with disability or injury in the workplace.
* Other assessments may include pre-employment assessments, return to work assessments, functional capacity assessments, rehabilitation needs assessments, pain management assessments, and other discipline specific assessments.
Assessors deliver assessments on site at workplaces, Inclusive Employment Australia provider offices, or private and confidential serviced offices or community locations.

What you’ll bring
* Diploma or higher qualification in allied health, disability, or related field
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in the disability and/or return to work sector
* Strong interpersonal, assessment, and report writing skills
* Ability to work independently, reliably, and within strict timeframes
* Sound IT literacy and commitment to data security
* Eligible to work in Australia, with current driver licence and comprehensively insured vehicle
* Mandatory pre-employment checks which include background verification will be conducted
* ABN and adequate insurance (essential)
