* 3-year term in the first instance, with potential for a second term.
* Unremunerated position, however, pre-approved expenses reimbursed and support for professional development available.
* Board meetings in-person (Melbourne) on a quarterly basis. FASC meetings undertaken virtually five times per annum.
Who we are
Established in 2003, Cancer Trials Australia (CTA) is a highly regarded, and peak not-for-profit Member-based organisation consisting of 32 clinical sites and 3 medical research institutes across Australia and New Zealand. We have demonstrated consistent growth over the past 10 years, and this is anticipated to continue in 2026. We support the administration and management of clinical trials across both metropolitan and regional hospitals. We work in close partnership with clinical research sites, trial sponsors and contract research organisations to ensure Australian patients can gain access to appropriate clinical trials as quickly as possible. Position Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the governance, financial stewardship and future direction of Cancer Trials Australia, by providing independent advice and governance oversight. We seek a collaborative communicator, driven by developing strong and professional working relationships. You will be approachable, pragmatic, an excellent communicator, and possess the ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Essential Requirements
* 10+ years' experience in a financial management role.
* Experience working in or with a healthcare organisation or contract research organisation.
* Previous Board experience essential, with prior sub-committee chair experience advantageous.
* Formal Governance qualification. Eg AICD Directors course or equivalent.
* Budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and risk management experience.
* Previous exposure to supporting annual audits.
