The Opportunity
This is a 12-month non-ongoing contract with the possibility for extension, offering a unique opportunity to manage a small team and make a real impact.
The role is ideal for someone ready to bring a fresh perspective, challenge existing processes, and explore new ways to improve how things are done.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
* Annual and monthly Financial Statements
* Monthly end process including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
* Accounting standards and reporting requirements implementation
* Assets management including stocktake, revaluation and impairment
* Audit liaison with ANAO and internal audit
* Compliance reporting
The Ideal Person
You will likely be working for another government department delivering financial statements as it requires someone to get across the work requirements quickly. You could also be someone who has worked as an external auditor looking to make the transition across to the other side of the desk.
You will be degree qualified and have obtained your CA/CPA qualifications. You will be known for your analytical skills and as well your ability to be a forward think who has strong written and verbal communication skills.
You are likely the go to person in your organisations to provide solutions to problems that arise or look at processes to see if any efficiencies can be gained.
