The School of Medical, Indigenous and Health Sciences (MIHS) includes disciplines of Exercise, Sport and Rehabilitation Sciences; Nutrition Science and Dietetics; Indigenous Health; and Medial Sciences. The School currently offers externally accredited programs in Exercise Science, Clinical Exercise Physiology and Dietetics as well as programs in Nutrition Science, Pre-Medicine, and Medical and Health Sciences. The School also offers a Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Trauma and Recovery Practice, and a Master of Indigenous Health.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced educator/practitioner to contribute and develop the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and Professional Practice portfolio within the Exercise Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology programs. In this teaching intensive appointment, you will establish and maintain strong partnerships with industry, clinical, and community placement providers to support high-quality student placements. You will also provide academic leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and professional practice initiatives, ensuring alignment with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation standards and the university's teaching and learning framework.
About you
You will hold a relevant undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or a related field, along with a postgraduate qualification such as a Master's or PhD with eligibility for professional accreditation with ESSA as an Exercise Scientist and/or Accredited Exercise Physiologist. You will bring experience in coordinating or supporting Work Integrated Learning (WIL) or professional practice activities in higher education or applied settings, with an understanding of ESSA accreditation standards and their application to curriculum design, placement requirements and competency-based education. You will also have teaching and/or subject coordination experience in Exercise Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology, as well as strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with current issues in the exercise science and health workforce, and a demonstrated ability to contribute to student employability and industry readiness will be highly regarded.
