About the role 
We are seeking a Paralegal either fulltime 1.0FTE or part time 0.8FTE. Reporting to a Senior Lawyer in Shepparton, the Paralegal will support the work of one or more of our legal teams as well as assisting with administration for the legal service more generally. For example, if supporting the general civil team, the Paralegal may undertake research and draft memoranda of advice or if supporting the family law team, the Paralegal may draft legal/court documents and provide detailed administrative support.

What you bring 
You will have the ability to engage with people who have complex vulnerabilities including trauma and you will have a commitment to improving human rights. 
You will also have: 
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to accurately assess and address client needs. 
- Experience and practical knowledge of law and procedure gained from experience in a legal or professional setting. 
- Oral and written communications skills, including legal drafting and strong interpersonal skills. 
- Competency with online systems and communication as well as records/filing and office systems. 
- An ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and establish work priorities.
