HOBAN Recruitment is seeking skilled APS 5 & APS 6 level Business Analysts to support a key federal initiative. Based in either Newcastle or Wollongong NSW, this is your opportunity to use data-driven insights to shape meaningful outcomes and support continuous improvement in a high-impact program.
About the Role
As a Business Analyst, you will play a vital role in delivering data analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting. Your responsibilities will include:
* Using Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and SAS to extract, analyse and present data
* Developing and maintaining projection and forecasting models for operational and strategic use
* Creating data visualisations, reports, and actionable insights
* Conducting quality assurance, trend analysis and performance reviews
* Supporting performance tracking and identifying improvement opportunities
* Communicating business insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
* Liaising with key stakeholders to improve data literacy and promote best practices
* Managing workflow queries via JIRA and contributing to team reporting

About You
We're looking for a highly motivated professional with a passion for analytics and business improvement. You will bring:
* Advanced Excel skills - power query, pivot tables, data visualisation, formulas
* Strong forecasting and statistical modelling experience
* Proficiency in SAS and ideally Salesforce analytics tools
* The ability to translate technical data into accessible language
* Proven ability to manage priorities and work independently or in a team
* High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Experience in quality assurance and trend analysis
* Experience using JIRA (desirable)
* Background in public service is advantageous
