About The Role Breakthru has been selected by the Department of Social Services to deliver the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program across key regions in New South Wales and Queensland. We are growing our team to help more people access meaningful employment and build lasting careers.
As a Career Coach, you'll support individuals with disability, injury or health conditions as they prepare for a meaningful career. Working as part of a dedicated and collaborative team, you'll guide people through the job-readiness journey — helping them build confidence, develop skills, and achieve their career goals. From the first conversation to job application and interview preparation, you'll be there to empower individuals to take control of their future and step into the workforce.
Key Responsibilities
* Working closely with clients as they plan their next career steps, providing support to find the right job along the way.
* Build strong relationships to understand each client's goals, strengths, and support needs.
* Provide tailored coaching and regular check-ins to maintain motivation and progress.
* Connect participants with upskilling opportunities, hands-on experience, and group-based activities.
* Collaborate with employers and community services to open pathways to employment and training.
* Meet or exceed internal and external performance benchmarks.
* Champion Breakthru's values of inclusion, empowerment, and person-centred practice.
About You
You bring empathy, energy and a strong drive to make a difference. With experience, or a genuine passion, for employment services, you're confident supporting people, building trust and guiding them toward meaningful and sustainable careers. You're outcomes-focused, highly organised, and thrive in a fast-paced, people-first environment. You love getting to know each client's unique strengths, goals and challenges so you can coach them effectively and build their confidence for their next career. You also enjoy engaging with employers, taking the time to understand their business needs so you can prepare candidates who are the right fit. Your strong relationship-building skills allow you to connect with both clients and employers alike. You're proactive, professional, and detail-oriented, always maintaining accurate records and upholding a high standard of service. Above all, you lead with integrity, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive, person-centred support.
Essential Criteria
* Qualifications in Employment or Human Services (e.g. Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work) - desirable
* Experience in employment services and supporting people with disability, injury, or health conditions
* Proven ability to meet KPIs and create client-focused employment and skills plans
* Confident in marketing clients to employers and facilitating group programs
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Knowledge of disability legislation, support strategies, and labour market trends
* Current Driver's License - essential
